Word from God’s Word-Renewal

JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Word from God’s Word is Renewal.

One definition of Renewal is to restore freshness, life, or quality.

There are some activities that renew our bodies such as rest, eating food, and exercise. They each have a part to play in physical renewal.

Spiritual renewal happens when we come to faith in Jesus Christ. His love refreshes us.  His Word inspires us. His truth guides us in God’s will. His grace gives us rest for our soul. We become a new person by the restoration of the Gospel.

For the believer, renewal is a day-by-day process. Second Corinthians 4:16 says, “though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly, we are being renewed day by day.” And Romans 12:2 offers this word of encouragement: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
