Prayer Focus-Reason for Living

JOHN SHIRK – In the Year of Focus, we take a look at our reason for living.

Paul addressed this reason in a sermon at Athens. He talked about the Lord of heaven and earth giving everyone life and breath and everything else. In Acts 17:26, he said, “From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. For in him we live and move and have our being.”

We were called to be in relationship with God, and this door is opened when we put our faith in Jesus to save us from sin and lead us in His righteous path. He becomes our purpose. He becomes our identity. He becomes our living hope.

Knowing Jesus as our reason for living is worth examining for a faith-focused life.
