God Quote-God’s Delight

JOHN SHIRK – In the Year of God’s Word, this is what the LORD says in Jeremiah 32:40 and 41.

I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul.

The Lord was talking about restoring the fortunes of Jerusalem in the future. Charles Spurgeon has said, “How encouraging to the believer is God’s delight in his saints! As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so does the LORD rejoice over his people.”

God’s goodness gives us an opportunity to celebrate His love with a heart of reverence and awe. What amazing grace that God would faithfully love us, bless us, and give us a place in His family of faith.
