WJTL’s Exciting News

July 11th, 2011 29 comments

FRED MCNAUGHTON – WJTL has exciting news about a fantastic new opportunity!  Please read our letter and look at the pictures to get all the details about WJTL’s future new home.  We are thrilled to share this news with you.

Dear Friend of WJTL,

Praise the Lord!  There is exciting news to report.  Several major donors have made it possible for the ministry to purchase an incredible property that will serve as the new campus for WJTL.  Providing that the government approvals go well, the purchase will take place before the end of the year.  After much prayer and consultation, everyone on staff and the board feels blessed to have this opportunity to expand the vision and scope of the ministry.  This includes more space for upgraded studios, Kid’s Cookie Break and youth group events, plus a 600 seat performing arts center where Christian concerts, seminars, theater, banquets and even live concert broadcasts can take place.  The name of the venue will be called “The Junction Center – Home of WJTL.”  It is a big vision but we serve a big God!

Here are some details.  The address is 1875 Junction Road, Manheim, PA but the buildings are too new to be seen on Google maps.  It is located just two miles north of the Rt. 772 Landisville Exit on Rt. 283.
Built on 27 acres but never occupied due to a foreclosure, the site features a 3,624 square foot office building connected by a breezeway to an 8,380 square foot warehouse with mezzanine.  The warehouse is the space that will be converted to the performing arts center.  The purchase price can’t be announced until after the sale is completed but we can say that the owner of the property is a friend of the ministry who is selling it for less than the appraised value of the land alone.  In other words, it is like getting the buildings for free.  No expense though was spared on the construction of the buildings including the best foam insulation, radiant floor heating, metal roofing, security systems, Lutron lighting, stone, tile, hardwood floors etc.  They even made provision for a generator backup system that is great for a radio station.  Even though it is sad that the original owner lost the property in foreclosure, this high-energy efficient building will be a real blessing to the ministry.

The project will be done in two phases:
PHASE ONE:  After final approvals and purchase, the station will move its offices and studios to “The Junction Center,” sometime before the end of the year. The studios will be upgraded with new equipment and processing.  No additional funds are needed for the purchase of the property and for the upgrades so the move will be made debt free.  Hallelujah!
PHASE TWO:  After the capital funds are raised, the existing warehouse will be converted into the performing arts center.  Onsite parking and sewage are currently being engineered and a proposed addition to the building is being designed that will contain additional restrooms, lobby, storage, and a balcony.  The costs for Phase Two are still being estimated but should be somewhere between 1.3 to 1.5 million dollars.  More details will follow on this but the goal would be to start construction in the spring of 2012 providing the funds and pledges have been raised.
Thanks so much for your prayerful support as we embark on this grand adventure together!

Sincerely,
Timothy Landis            Fred McNaughton
