FRED MCNAUGHTON -Congratulations to the WJTL Team! WJTL and it’s staff is the 2011 recipient of three prestigious Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Excellence in Broadcasting Awards, received yesterday at a ceremony at the Hotel Hershey Garden Terrace Ballroom. Eddie, Lisa and Kristi represented WJTL (and were right smartly dressed in my opinion).
Here is the rundown on the awards…
• The Outstanding Radio Website award, to Eddie Daniels, designer Brian Crow and the WJTL staff for WJTL.com.
• The Outstanding Radio Contest award to Kristi Leigh and the WJTL staff for the Single Parent Contest.
• The Outstanding Program Designed for Children to Lisa Landis and the WJTL staff for the 7th year in a row for The Kids Cookie Break.
WJTL is thrilled to be recognized by our Broadcasting peers in radio and television for positively impacting our community and our listeners with EXCELLENCE.

FRED MCNAUGHTON – Few artists are as committed to expanding the boundaries of Children’s Music and Family Entertainment as Steven Courtney. Steven has performed over 4,989 concerts, recorded 30 full-length albums, received 7 Children’s Music Web Awards and the Arpeggio Award for “Outstanding Work with Children” through the Arts, as well as produce three concert-length performance videos and an award winning Children’s TV series.
Steven has a brand new CD that debuts today. It’s called MILLION SMILES TO GO. You can get it at his website or you can dowload it at itunes.
I had the distinct pleasure of writing a couple of the tunes with Steven. I also got to play trumpet and ukulele on the cd. Steven Courtney is a WJTL and Kids Cookie Break Treasure. This might be his best album yet. Check it out!
FRED MCNAUGHTON – WOW! Talk about overwhelmed! When WJTL started of the month of December facing it’s biggest end of the year deficit I was honestly not sure we were going to make it. Yes, we all had faith that God could do it, after all we have experienced his faithfulness in this ministry for 26 years. We also know the generosity of the WJTL family. We tell everyone, we have the best listeners, barring none.
Still, it was an act of faith to announce the amount needed and trust in God’s timing and outcome.
I am pleased to tell you that not only did we come close to meeting the deficit, WE SURPASSED IT!
Thank you for your prayers and thank you for your donations. God has shown Himself faithful once again. He has moved in his people, and we are overwhelmed by His response.
We are honored and thankful that you are part of the WJTL family.
