Ways to Reach Out to Lisa During Her Illness

August 20th, 2013

As many of you know, Lisa Landis was hospitalized on June 26th with a serious bacterial infection.ย  Many of you have expressed interest in leaving a message for Lisa. This page would be a great way to do that. Simply leave your reply to this message and we will pass your well-wishes along to Lisa and her family.

Some listeners and organizations have also asked about organizing a Get Well card shower for Lisa.ย  If your church or organization or family is interested in doing that you can send your cards to WJTL, 1875 Junction Road, Manheim, PA 17545 Attn: Lisa Landis, and we will pass them along to Lisa and her family as well.

Additionally, many have been asking about ways to help Lisa during her lengthy illness and Hospital Stay. If you would like to help with Lisa’s Medical & Rehabilitation Expenses, a special fund has been set up. ย Please send your gift to…

FULTON BANK: MCGOVERN AVENUE
20 MCGOVERN AVE.
LANCASTER, PA 17602

Please Indicate on your check that this is for the
LISA LANDIS BLOWERS FUND

or call or visit the FULTON BANK branch nearest you.

Thank You!

    Hi Lisa,

    I am new to the area and was pleased to find WJTL in a station scan. I’m so sorry to hear of your illness. You’re not supposed to question BUT some things just make you go, “Hmm?” It is great to
    know that your recovery, albeit, intense and slow is happening.
    All the best to you and yours,
    Jean White

    Lisa:

    I am praying for you and hope that you recover quickly! I listen to WJTL every day and I always enjoyed listening to you. Now, every day I listen to find out how you’re doing! Again, our prayers are with you. With think of you every day and know that the Lord’s loving arms are wrapped about you and your family during this time!

    BTW – I should add a personal testimony. Not only has WJTL been a huge blessing and source of encouragement to me, it has been a great source of help to my husband over this past year. He always listened but started faithfully listening to the station and utilizing the pray request part of the website over the past year! And we felt the different all those shared prayers made! And, we hope you feel the same way!! You all are a blessing to so many! Keep up the good work!

    In Christ,

    I am so glad to hear that there are good things happening with your healing. You, and your family come to mind so often and I pray that God will continue to meet you right where you are and supply everything that you need in the moment that you need it. I miss hearing your pleasant voice on the radio and I must admit that although I am a “grown up” ๐Ÿ™‚ I often listen to the Kids Cookie Break while I am cleaning and I miss the joy and excitement that you always share with the big and little kid in all of us. Please know that I will continue to send prayers heavenward for you and your family!

    Lisa,
    My family and I continue to pray for you and your family. The recent news is certainly encouraging to hear. Some of your doctors at LGH still ask me for updates on how you are doing and are so pleased with your progress! I miss hearing your giggle on my way to work in the mornings and my son especially misses hearing you on the Kid’s Cookie Break. You are a fighter and I know this setback can’t keep you down. Praying for peace and strength for you all. God is good!

    I AM THERE by Hanoochi (a Native American Prayer)

    I am the breeze that kisses your cheek. I am the sun that warms your face. When you look at the purple evening sky, it is me.

    When the birds sweetly sing, it is my voice. When the water laps gently against the shore, it is my heartbeat.

    I am the green grass against your feet. I am the refreshing shade of summer.

    In the stars, you see my eyes. In the blue sky, you see my body.

    Feel the air that surrounds you, I am there.

    Feel the love in your heart, I am there.

    Dear Lisa,

    I praise God that your infection was found while it was still treatable. I know the stress of having your body invaded by something that shouldn’t be there. Rest assured, that you have been covered in prayer. Blessings to you and yours always.

    Dear Lisa and her family,
    You have been in our thoughts and prayers. Our youngest son turned 1 on June 26th and ever since we heard of your sickness, we have been praying for you. Our oldest son (who is 5) loves Kids cookie Break – as do our 2 daughters (who are 4 and 2 years old) – we listen to it for the full 3 hours on Saturday mornings. We pray that the Lord would comfort you and heal you during this difficult time. We enjoyed meeting you at the palmyra public library last year and we love listening to your LOVE for LIFE and other PEOPLE on WJTL. We know the Lord has done and will continue to do amazing things through your life… and the way you Love Him and serve Him with all your heart. Love, the Trostle family (Palmyra, PA) Romans 8:28 (NIV)
    “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” – We know that God is going to bring good from this… and He will be glorified in your Life !!!

    My husband and I know all to well, what Lisa and her family are going through!! My husband and I went through the same thing 6 years ago! He spent 48 days in the hospital!! It has been a long road!!But through our faith in God we got through it!! My husband and I would like to meet you!!

    Even though I don’t know you or your family personally, we are friends with Mindy Lapp at Keystone Church. One Sunday we saw the weight of her concern for you written all over her and started following your journey. We became part of this wave of prayer going on across the county and would anxiously await new updates. Isn’t it amazing that in the body of Christ, you don’t even have to have met in order to love a sister. Just want to remind you, what you already know, that people love you, your God loves you and He is greater than any need we can present Him with. Keep trusting in Him through this long process. May you experience how high and how wide the depth of God’s love is for you today and in the upcoming months of rehab. In addition, it has been a good reminder to me to extend so much grace to people I meet, people that may pull out in front of you not thinking, people that may say unkind words without thinking….simply because you don’t know what may be on their mind or what struggle they may be going through that has their mind and heart preoccupied. Truly wishing you and your family peace in your storm. Kim

    I have been listening to you and Fred every weekday morning for at least the past 10 years or more, and I want you to know how much I appreciate hearing your cheerful voice coming through my radio as I try to get my day started on the right track. Thanks for choosing songs that even adults can enjoy! My car and home radios are always tuned to WJTL. Praying for you every day Lisa! A song that touched me a few years ago when my son was battling bacterial meningitis (sudden sickness similar to yours) was You Raise Me UP by Josh Groban.
    You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
    You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
    I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
    You raise me up… To more than I can be.

    I know you will find strength to continue this journey – and I know you will find a way to overcome – You have the good Lord on your side!!!
    Blessings!

    We heard the cookie lady had a really hard time
    Fighting for her life because it was on the line
    Thought this little fever was just the ugly flu
    Then things got really bad but they knew what do do
    The call went out and God’s people did pray
    The visious infection by the Lord was stayed
    Surgeons do their best to repair so she can heal
    And the bottom line shows what God’s Word reveals
    Mess with His kids and your messin’ with the crew
    We will band together just to fight for you
    Satan may fight to take you out, he’ll try
    But you’re not leavin’ til God says it’s time to fly
    The ovens are warmin’ n the cookies are bakin’
    To celebrate the day you’ll soon be up and shakin’

    Rejoicing with you, Lisa!
