Vital Step to a Radiant Faith-Delight in the LORD

May 5th, 2023 No comments

JOHN SHIRK – In the Year to Shine, today’s Vital Step to a Radiant Faith is to delight in the LORD.

Psalm 37:4 says, “Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

This is the starting place to a productive faith that is filled with meaning and purpose. As God plants His desires in our heart, we will be motivated to glorify Him with our ambitions, and serve people at their points of need.

Verse 5 says, “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.”

Taking Delight in the LORD is a vital step to a radiant faith that makes a difference in our world.

Key Element for Thriving Relationships-Delight in the LORD

December 23rd, 2022 No comments

JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Key Element for Thriving Relationships is Delighting in the LORD.

This is foundational to a sustainable, productive journey of faith.

When we delight in the Lord, we are moved by God’s love to do God’s will, and make a difference for God’s Kingdom.

When we delight in the Lord, we will be motivated to reach out to others with God’s love and share His good news.

After the shepherds visited Jesus at the manger, their hearts were moved to tell others about Jesus, and all who heard their words were amazed.

Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.”

Delighting in the Lord is a key element for thriving relationships that honor God.

Faith Building Verse-Psalm 37:4

November 11th, 2022 No comments

JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Faith-Building Verse is Psalm 37:4.

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Delighting in the LORD will shape the desires of our heart. When He takes first priority in our lives, righteousness becomes the yearning of our heart.

Our God-given purpose starts with a relationship with Jesus. He will be the treasure that we seek. He will be the Savior that we celebrate. He will be the Lord that we worship in spirit and in truth.

He will be our source of satisfaction and supreme joy.

This Faith-Building Verse inspires us to delight in the LORD in the Year of Relationship.

Eye On Integrity-Relationship with God

August 27th, 2018 No comments

JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Eye on Integrity is based on Jeremiah 9, verses 23 and 24.

“This is what the LORD says: ‘Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the LORD who exercises kindness, justice, and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight.’”

Any wisdom, strength, or wealth that we have is very limited compared to the treasures of knowing God. A relationship with God will change us so that we learn to delight in that which delights the LORD.

Walking in relationship with God is a virtue to embrace for our lives in the Year of Integrity.

Eye On Integrity-Delight In The LORD

JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Eye on Integrity is based on Psalm 37, verses 4 to 6.

“Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD, trust in him, and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.”

The starting place for standing for righteous causes is a relationship with God where we delight in Him. He then plants holy desires in our heart that become righteous causes.

For Billy Graham, that cause was preaching the Gospel.

For Mother Teresa, that cause was helping the poor.

For George Mueller, that cause was helping orphans in their distress.

For Chuck Colson, that cause was reaching out to prisoners and their families with the love of Jesus.

What will your righteous cause be? Let God be the One to move you and guide you. Commit that cause to God.

Walking with delight in the Lord is a virtue to embrace for our lives in the Year of Integrity.
