Vital Step to a Radiant Faith-Take Refuge in the LORD

August 25th, 2023 No comments

JOHN SHIRK -In the Year to Shine, today’s Vital Step to a Radiant Faith is to take refuge in the Lord.

Psalm 34:8 invites us to “taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”

Throughout the Bible, we can see references to God as the protector and provider of our soul.

Proverbs 18:10 describes God as a strong tower. The righteous run to it and are safe.

According to Hebrews 6:19, we have an anchor for our soul, firm and secure, because of our hope in Jesus.

And Jesus described Himself as “the good shepherd, who laid down His life for the sheep.”

In God’s grace, we find the goodness of God and a secure place for our soul.

Taking Refuge in the LORD is a vital step to a Radiant Faith that makes a difference in our world.

Freedom Phrase-Strong Tower

September 12th, 2019 No comments

JOHN SHIRK – In the Year of Redemption, today’s Freedom Phrase is based on Proverbs 18:10.

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

The gospel of Jesus stands tall as a refuge for our soul. Consider the security of God’s grace in these verses of the Bible.

From John 10, Jesus said, “I give them (my sheep-my followers) eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.”

From Second Timothy 1, “I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.”

And from Romans 8, “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Through Jesus, we are set free to live in the security of God’s grace.

Reason To Believe-Height Of God’s Love

June 23rd, 2016 No comments

JOHN SHIRK – In the Year of Exploration, today’s Reason to Believe is the height of God’s love.

Psalm 103, verse 11 says, “As high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him.”

High towers are like magnets to our eyes. If we approach a major city, those are the structures that tend to capture our attention first.

But no tower extends into the heavens like the love of God, which reflects the distance that Jesus traveled to demonstrate God’s love at the cross.

Proverbs 18:10 tells us that the name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

God’s love stands tall as a place of refuge for our soul.

The height of God’s love is a reason to believe in God’s good news.
