STACEY GAGNE – Are you creative? Are you looking for inspiration? Try going to scripture. I was looking through my journal the other night and noticed that my best and most creative writing comes out during times that I was more focused on reading The Word or spending more focused time with God in prayer and worship. This shouldn’t come as a surprise … inspiration from the Creator. 🙂 But a good reminder, nonetheless.

JOHN SHIRK – Meditation can be defined as focusing one’s thoughts on; to reflect or ponder over. Biblically, it means taking a passage of Scripture and chewing it over for a while.
Psalm 1:2 describes the man who is blessed as someone whose “delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.”
Meditation includes thinking, remembering, understanding, and living out what we have learned. Throughout the day, we are wise to think about life’s instructions that God has given us, and then live them out. The best focus for our thoughts is Jesus, who lived a sinless life, and is full of grace and truth.
A meditative mind is a character quality that enables us to represent Jesus in the world today.

Hi!
The Cardboard Derby is always a lot of fun, for everyone involved and for the spectators! The Cardboard Derby is this Sunday, Jan. 30th at Ski Roundtop. This year’s theme is “Flying Food” which should make for some fun and unique cardboard crafts. You can register the day of the event, so it’s not too late if you would like to join in on the fun! (And it is always fun watching to see who can make it down the hill in one piece!) There are Adult teams and Junior teams. Check In goes from 2-3PM and the Race starts at 4PM. The derby takes place on the snow tubing hill and they will have lanes available if you would like to go snow tubing. Stop by and visit the WJTL table while you are there! You can find all the details and the Registration Form at Ski Roundtop’s website. http://skiroundtop.com/derby.htm

STACEY GAGNE –
Ok, those lyrics from the song in the movie White Christmas might be a bit of an exaggeration for me … I don’t LONG to shovel, necessarily, but I do love snow. (The way I fell in it when I was shoveling last night… you’d think I “longed to wash my hands, my face and hair” with it, though).
I have so much fun this time of year helping with Operation Snow Crew, especially during the Get Up and Go Show. I love snow, so that is a big part of the excitement for me. I’ve been known to run outside when we get the first flakes of the winter. I also enjoy the change in schedule, getting up “dark and early” and heading home early, too. It’s fun spending time with Fred and Lisa and the other staff in our early morning silliness, going on the air with the DJ’s once in a while, talking with the leadership from local schools, churches and businesses, and getting the word out for families and individuals in the listening area. It’s a challenge to see how quickly we can get the announcements out on the air and on the web. Often times we are updating while Fred and Lisa are mid-way through the list with chats from the office to the studio. 🙂 It definitely can get interesting.
We post the cancellations on the web and read them on the air. Remember you can see the Operation Snow Crew list anytime it’s active. If you’ve noticed that your school, church or local business or organization is not reporting to WJTL, please let them know that we’d love to include them in our listings, too.
Enjoy the snow!
