Win Tickets to Water Street Mission’s Red Carpet Premiere

Water Street Mission’s Red Carpet Premiere of the feature film Same Kind Of Different As Me is happening next Wednesday, October 18th, at 7PM at Regal Manor 16 in Lancaster and Penn Cinema in Lititz.  With an academy award-winning cast, Same Kind Of Different As Me is based on the New York Times bestseller.  It tells the inspiring true story of an international art dealer who befriends a homeless man in hopes of saving his struggling marriage to a woman whose dreams will lead them on a remarkable journey.  This film humanizes those affected by the issue of homelessness, and inspires viewers to engage personally with those around them.

Tune in to WJTL all day long on Winning Wednesday, October 11th for chances to call in and win tickets to Water Street Mission’s Red Carpet Premiere of Same Kind Of Different As Me!  Giveaways begin after 6AM and go all day long.  Listen for the DJs’ cues to call 717-392-3690 (392-FM90).

Adoption Coalition Free Movie Night

Adoption Coalition of Lancaster County is hosting their 3rd annual Free Movie Night at Penn Cinema this Thursday, November 6th. Two family themed movies, Elf and Frozen, will start at 6:30pm and the doors will open at 6. We encourage you to come early – the first 100 people will receive free popcorn!

WJTL will be broadcasting live and the first 50 people to come say “hi” to us will received a mini WJTL frisbee. That’s not all though, you can also get WJTl stickers and KCB pencils.

Annie and Despicable Me for Free!

November is National Adoption Awareness Month and WJTL will be celebrating by broadcasting live from Penn Cinema as The Adoption Coalition of Lancaster County host their second annual Free Movie Night. Join the WJTL Road Crew on Thursday, November 7th for two adoption themed movies – Annie and Despicable Me. The doors open 6pm and the movies begin at 6:30pm. The ACLC will provide vouchers for free popcorn at their information table and you can also enter to win door prizes.

And if that wasn’t enough, The King’s Strings (http://www.thekingsstrings.com/) will be playing in the lobby between 6:00pm and 6:30pm. A family band led by John and Cindy King (and their seven children) have been playing music since ’04 and crafting their art ever since.  Their musical style ranges from classical to folk, from worship to Broadway, ensuring something for every listener.

So stop by on Thursday, November 7th  and say hello to the WJTL staff. We’ll be giving way wristband, KCB pencils, and enough stickers to cover the screen of an IMAX theater. This event is open to the public and registration is not required.

WIN THE KING’S STRINGS CD!

The King’s Strings from Mechanicsburg, PA is a family of musicians that enjoys putting smiles on the faces of its listeners. Since their debut in 2004, they have been bringing those smiles to retirement communities, birthday and anniversary celebrations, fund-raisers, and company Christmas dinners. They have played all over their home state of Pennsylvania, west to Ohio, east to the Chesapeake Bay area and south to Florida. In 2008 they were thrilled to entertain the guests of Pennsylvania’s Governor Ed Rendell at his annual Holiday Open House. This past fall they played the National Anthem for the Harrisburg Senators baseball team.

The King’s Strings will appear at Penn Cinema for a special event on Thursday, November 15th.  The Adoption Coalition of Lancaster County (ACLC) is sponsoring a free Movie Night at Penn Cinema on Thursday, November 15, beginning at 6 p.m. Held in conjunction with National Adoption Awareness Month, the event aims to help raise awareness of the need for foster and adoptive families. Attendees can view one of two recent adoption-themed movies-The Blind Side or Meet the Robinsons.  Click here for all the info!
