I’ve been streaming Cody Carnes’ latest album, “Run To The Father” a lot the past few weeks. He has a way of bringing hope and vision to our perspective in his lyrics. So, I was thrilled for him to share the stories behind some of my favorite songs on the record. Plus, all about “The Blessing”, a song he wrote with his wife (Kari Jobe) and Elevation Worship that has become a staple of worship set lists these days. He & Kari also have content churches can use for free in their streamed services. Cody also shares tips for songwriting collaborations, leading worship over screens, and keeping little kids happy during quarantine.
Today’s playlist is themed around the heart of Rend Collective’s new album: Choose To Worship! Drummer, Gareth Gilkeson, joined me on the Praise & Worship Podcast. Listen above, and find out more here. The song lineup is below, including some of their brand new songs, plus new ones from Housefires, Maverick City Music, Corey Voss & Madison Street Worship, and even a Switchfoot collaboration with Jenn Johnson!
Rend Collective drummer, Gareth Gilkeson, is my guest on the Praise & Worship Podcast (Episode 8)! He shares how his family is doing during the quarantine, and how his band is still on a mission to give people a reason to celebrate. Their new record, “Choose To Worship”, is jam-packed with songs to help you stand and sing through painful seasons. Keep your ears peeled for Gareth’s tips on leading worship through a screen, and what Rend Collective is creating for churches.
Gareth talks about the Cliffs of Moher in this interview…here’s the music video for their song “Revival Anthem”. Filmed in Ireland, including shots right on the edge!
This morning we are celebrating Resurrection Day with a themed playlist! See the lineup below, including “Jesus Paid It All” by Kim Walker-Smith, “King of Kings” by Hillsong Worship, “Living Hope” from Phil Wickham, “Death Was Arrested” by Seth Condrey, “Resurrection Day” by Rend Collective and more.
Happy Sunday! Even though we’re not gathering to celebrate, today is a special occasion. It’s Palm Sunday! Listen in and sing along with me: songs of hosanna and hallelujah to the King!
Today is the 3rd Sunday in a row that my family watched our church service from home. These weeks have involved new adjustments along with a lot to process. You can probably relate! Songs are helping. I heard from lots of friends about what they’re singing these days during this week’s #worshipleaderwednesday conversation on social media. And I caught up with worship leader, Jared Anderson, to find out how he and his large family are impacted by the Coronavirus. They’re on official lockdown in Colorado. I asked him about his song picks for this season, too. He’s been going LIVE on social media each evening for Nights of Song (6-7 Eastern), sometimes with a friend or family members. I loved that Jared shared his heart and mind, and that he’s sharing the gift of music as an offering to help others while also steadying his family. I also 100% love that Jared is fun to talk with and lives in a colorful home!
Episode 7 also features Neal Harmon, CEO of VidAngel: a filtering service with access to familiar titles and original content, allowing you to skip the stuff you’d otherwise fast-forward and mute. That’s good news if you need a laugh from Dry Bar Comedy or are looking for something spiritual for the family like The Chosen. You may have heard about this first-ever multiple-episode tv series based on the life of Jesus and the impact he had on those closest to him. My husband and I recently binged it. So, as a fan, I was eager to geek about about with Neal. Listen to the podcast to find out when season 2 is coming out – and how it’s being affected by the Coronavirus. Plus, Neal shares his favorite character and scene, and some fun stories behind-the-scenes.
I hope you’re hanging in there. This morning’s playlist has songs of peace for times of trouble. And I had a little help from my friends (on social media)! We were talking about the songs we’re singing to get through this storm for #WorshipLeaderWednesday, and there were so many good ones mentioned in the comments on Facebook and Instagram. Plus, episode 7 of the Praise & Worship Podcast is up on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and Soundcloud, featuring Jared Anderson. He shared his song picks for this season—and I have them in today’s lineup.
Hi! What a week…I hope you’re doing well. It’s definitely a lot to process, with new things to balance in daily life. I’ve found songs are a big help in steadying my heart on God. Some lyrics are perfect reminders that He is faithful, victorious and dependable. I thought songs for this season were in order for today’s playlist. That goes for our current circumstances, and also the recent end of winter and start of spring! The playlist is below. I pray it encourages you.
Hello! I hope you and your family are doing well. There’s a lot going on, and it can be very easy to feel overwhelmed. So, I have a special theme for this morning: songs of wholehearted trust and unshakeable peace. The lineup includes songs based on popular Bible verses like Psalm 23, Psalm 91, Jeremiah 29:11, Proverbs 3:5-6 and Lamentations 3:22-23. We’ll focus on His goodness in keeping His promises—and we’ll remember: He is still in control.
This morning’s lineup includes brand new songs from Brandon Lake, Passion, Housefires, Matt Papa and more! Plus, a Psalm 23 mini theme featuring Chris McClarney, Shane & Shane, Chris Tomlin and Jenn Johnson.
