8th Annual Mental Illness Awareness Walk

8th Annual Mental Illness Awareness Walk on Oct. 14th at 10am. The walk will conclude the recognition of Mental Illness Awareness Week, October 1-7, and is a very important part of NAMI’s mission.

We’re still accepting vendors, with the exception of food vendors. Register at www.namiyork.org .  NAMI believes that mental illnesses are physical illnesses that affect the brain, and with treatment, most individuals can lead a productive and happy life. For over 33 years, NAMI York County has worked tirelessly to advocate for, support, and educate people with mental illness and their families.

When Trauma Comes to Church

“When trauma comes to church” presentation is for the faith-based community leaders, teachers and those seeking to care for others who live under the mantel of trauma on Oct. 6th from 6pm-9pm at Carousel Project.  Participants will be: introduced to the operating mechanism of the human brain according to God’s design, discuss crisis and trauma categories with practical considerations that promote healing, and explore theological practices that challenge psychological need.

There will be a blessing of pets on Sunday, October 1st at 2pm at the Zions View Athletic Park in York, hosted by:  Quickel Lutheran Church.   Join together to thank God for our pet friends that bring us joy.  Come experience God’s love with us!

Peace Fest 2017

Peace Fest 2017 on Sept. 24th from 1pm-4pm at Binns Park. All welcome!  Live music, fun for children and families, noted speakers, and dozens of local organizations committed to peace, justice, and nonviolence will be there to celebrate the message that “Peace Is Practical” in our communities and our world.

Praise In The Park

Praise In The Park on Saturday, September 16 from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM at Crouse Park and hosted by Bethel Assembly of God in Littlestown.  Music genres will include hymns, contemporary choruses, vocals, as well as instrumental pieces.
