MEDA World Night Market

Live music, international food, tuktuk rides, a fashion show, and much, much more!  MEDA (Mennonite Economic Development Associates) invites people of all ages to MEDA’s World Night Market on May 18 from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. in Binns Park (Lancaster City).  Admission is free.

World Night Market is an event designed to promote the mission and vision of MEDA, a nonprofit committed to creating business solutions to poverty around the world.  This event was inspired by night markets that originated in Asian cultures where tent vendors, food vendors and musicians gather together to block a street and create a unique atmosphere with all of the smells, sounds and activities of a typical marketplace.

Go Fly a Kite! Day & Healthy Kids Day

Bring a picnic lunch and spend a day in the park on April 28th from Noon-5pm at Youth Recreation Facility. Health and wellness information will be shared, along with fun games for all ages. Bring a store-bought kite or kids can make one in our Sled-Kite Workshop tent. See professional kite flying and stunts. Vote for your favorite in the Law Enforcement Vehicle Competition! This event is presented by the YMCA of Reading & Berks County and the Berks County Parks and Recreation Department.  Free admission and parking. Amphibian Migration Registration

Amphibian Migration on April 21st from 6:30pm-8:30pm at Berks County’s Angora Fruit Farm which boasts many different species of frogs, toads, and salamanders which live or breed in the park’s diverse aquatic and wetland habitats.  A short program on the identification and life cycle of local amphibians will be given prior to the hike. ECO Egg Hunt Registration

ECO Egg Hunt on March 31st from 11am-1pm at Angora Fruit Farm. Join Environmental Educator, Jennifer Brooks, and partake in an egg hunt adventure like no other. This non-traditional, non-competitive egg hunt will delight children and parents alike! Children will venture into the forest to hunt for and collect different types of eggs that resemble hawks, owls, and other native birds hidden among the trees and leaves in the forest. Join Berks County Parks staff, along with some wonderful volunteers, for a day of family fun at this year’s EGGstravaganza on March 24th from Noon-3pm at the Berks County Heritage Center. This even will feature the Easter Bunny with special treats for children. There will also be children’s crafts and activities, egg decorating, and much, much more. Most activities are free of charge. Please note that this is not an egg hunt.
