Light Reflection-John 10:10 Abundant Life

March 17th, 2023 No comments

JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Light Reflection is from John 10:10.

Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.”

The light of the Gospel reveals the abundant life that we can have in Christ.

When we say yes to the invitation of Jesus to follow Him, it’s like walking through an open door to God’s abounding grace. His love for us enriches our lives with overflowing hope and joy. His name is the theme of our praise. His peace enriches us with godly contentment. His forgiveness refreshes our soul with freedom and healing.

David loved God and wrote in Psalm 23:5 and 6 “My cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”

This Light Reflection inspires us to embrace the abundant life that Jesus offers us in the Year to Shine.

Faith Building Verses-John 10:9 and 10

June 7th, 2022 No comments

JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Faith-Building Verses are John 10:9 and 10.

Jesus said, “I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

There is a big difference between what Jesus offers us and what the devil offers us. Satan seeks to take away what Jesus came to give. But he will not succeed if we run to the One who gave His life for our sins at the cross.

One of those blessings that Jesus provides for us is a full and abundant life. This is not the kind of abundant life that is often equated with American prosperity and material wealth. The full life that Jesus offers us is abounding in God’s goodness and grace, overflowing with hope and joy, and filling our hearts with the love and peace that only Jesus can provide. These blessings fill our lives when we walk with Jesus as one of His disciples day-by-day.

These Faith-Building Verses inspire us to live an abundant life under the influence of Jesus in the Year of Relationship.

Eye On Integrity-The Life

June 8th, 2018 No comments

JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Eye on Integrity is based on John 14:6.

Jesus told His disciples, “I am the life.”

He is the source of life. He spoke of two dimensions of life when He held out the offer of life to us-eternal life and abundant life.

In John 6:40, He said, “My Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”

In John 10:10, He said, I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” Jesus offers the kind of life that abounds in peace, in love, in grace, in joy, in hope, in gratitude, and in good deeds. Receiving Jesus as Lord is the key to these abounding treasures.

Faith walks toward God, using the bridge that He has provided to cross over from death to life.

Walking in the life that Jesus has for us is a virtue to embrace for our lives in the Year of Integrity.
