Vital Step to a Radiant Faith-Offer Our Songs to God

May 22nd, 2023 No comments

JOHN SHIRK – In the Year to Shine, today’s Vital Step to a Radiant Faith is offering our songs to God.

The songs that we can offer to God are the ones that He has planted in our hearts.

In Psalm 40, verse 3, David wrote about God, “He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD put their trust in him.”

We are not all singers or musicians, but through the generations, God has worked through music to tell His story and lead people to a place of worship. So, today, we can take a song to heart with lyrics that celebrate God’s glory and grace.

Offering our songs to God is a vital step to a radiant faith that makes a difference in our world.

Freedom Phrase-New Song

March 21st, 2019 No comments

JOHN SHIRK – In the Year of Redemption, today’s Freedom Phrase is based on Psalm 40, verse 3.

David said, “He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the LORD and put their trust in him.”

It is not a coincidence that David wrote over 70 Psalms that reflect his love for God in various ways.

There is something that happens in our spirit when we open our heart to God and consider His love for us an eternal treasure. We might not all write songs, but our music begins to change to the tune of a new Conductor. God puts a song in our heart that celebrates the name of Jesus and His amazing grace given to us.

Through Jesus, we are set free to sing a new song of praise to the LORD.

Eye On Integrity-Music As An Instrument of Worship

July 16th, 2018 No comments

JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Eye on Integrity is based on Psalm 40, verse 3.

David said this about the LORD, “He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.”

When the grace of God moves the heart, praise for God becomes the theme of our songs. Jesus said, “Out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.” That is what was happening in David’s life. His music became an instrument of praise that became a public testimony of what God had done in his life. This kind of music continues to have an impact on people’s lives today.

Using music as an instrument of praise for God is a virtue to embrace for our lives in the Year of Integrity.
